There are two standard classifications of GSA containers known as Class 5 and Class 6. Each of these containers are available in a variety of flavors including safes, file cabinets and general purpose cabinets or storage lockers. While both classifications can be used for the storage of top secret and classified documents or materials, there are several differences that must be taken into consideration before you buy a GSA container.

What can I store in a Class 6 container?

GSA Class 6 containers (often 2 drawer, 4 drawer or 5 drawer filing cabinets) are engineered to store top secret documents and materials deemed classified. This includes paper documents, external hard drives and other related information. You cannot store Federal evidence in a Class 6 safe.
